howdy folks, @ the Advaita Show,
1st, a word-up, some of us here in America do know and love the Drs. Who, especially the 5th.
and on the advaita note; thinking that there are/would be benefits, as you mention, of less anxiety etc. when one realizes the reality of non-duality, only reinforces the sense of identity (like… who benefits? who gets the payoff?) …
so … facing that fact, alone, that one is chasing the realization carrot for ‘person’al gain, can be the dropping of the search (or not).
so what’s there to gain? since you can’t have more or less than right now, all this. and yet, all this said, imbibing of the spirituality stuff; books, recordings, and shows such as yours goes on, because it’s still rolickin’ good fun listening to ya’ll. so, yippee ya yay! ride em’ cowboys!
all this IS the “merrily down the stream” part of “life is but a dream”.
it can’t be avoided, and it can’t be bought.
it’s like trying to premeditate, or plan, remembering or forgetting. it just happens.
like my good fortune to have stumbled upon your blogshow.

and on a practical note, i wonder, if/when passing through your neck of the woods, can anyone drop by?

So.. my.. questions.. hmm.. oh yes,
* is ejaculation making men weaker and liable to illnesses.. or to not feeling right?
* is there ANY way of controling healthy life style (advaita way only) .. that works? I do not know any. Well i can imagine some sort of renunciation, but it deals with people´s minds, so it can´t be succesfull for long :-)) time. Control can´t be succesfull – or can it be?
* who is woman and who is man? Is there any difference in their (men´s womaen´s) “substratum” ? Well, whatever it is (substratum /for Cameron../), it can´t be touched, so my question is, are we the same? Can some lady answer this question in your (Bob´s) show please? Why there are only men talking?
Pick just some of them and leave the rest behind, CammmeRon, those questions are shit.. as we are, or are we not? Good bye

Hi Cameron and Bob….
This week I had an insight I wanted to share….and some questions too.
I recognized that I want “me” to feel a sense of joy and purpose from all this Advaita study, but I don’t feel it. I don’t feel any better, really. In some ways I feel worse, because the Advaita teachings aren’t providing “me” with the happiness I expected. It doesn’t always get me through a bad day.
But then I realized what I just said…..I want “me” to feel happy and purposeful from Advaita teachings. The “me” wants to get something from this.
I guess Bob would say that the “me” isn’t real, correct? Only the “I” is real. And it’s the same “I” that is in all of us, right? And this I is already complete and needs nothing to be happy….I can see that….
but my first question is:
Once I understand this concept, the feeling only lasts a moment, and then “I” just jump back into my egoic “me” personality role, which is that EGOic, needy entity, all over again. Can you guys speak on this back-and-forth FORGETTING AND REMEMBERING process? Is it the simply the nature of the Intelligence Energy to put on this FORGETTING game? If so, what kind of “God” is this? Seems a little twisted to me!
Another Question:
In AA, and Al-Anon, people release themselves to a “Higher Power” which really helps them get through the day, and this practice works for millions of people. Can Bob explain what is going on there?

Thank you very much for discussing the issue of alcohol addiction.
Something that came up here….. Regarding the notion that “the answer is not in the mind” — could it be more accurate to say that “the answer is not in the ACTIVITY of the mind”?
To consider that the thought “I am” is a reflection “in the mind” of the Real — the
“Real” being that immutable intelligence energy or whatever we call It — it’s in the mind that It is reflected or interpreted or translated as “I AM”. Is it not?
And so no “activity” of the mind is required for this reflection. In fact, maybe, a STILL mind is best suited for reflecting this sense of “I AM”, like a bucket of water best reflects the moon when the water in the bucket is not agitated or stirred.
And so any “activity” or dexterity of the mind would have nothing to do with the clear reflection that is required for this “seeing”. But WITHOUT a body-mind — or with a dead body-mind or a drunk or impaired body-mind — there could be no accurate reflection.
Is that pointing in the direction you are pointing to?

I enjoy the podcasts. Being an Audio Engineer, there appears a wish to edit it all down. It just is as it is. Me thinks you represent the restless mind very well with all the ins and outs that most seekers experience. It all lends itself to revealing ‘something’ for those with discrimination. Since Bob removed all doubts ‘here’, there is no longer any real preferences.
I would make a suggestion for ‘later’ when the number of shows have increased. Maybe edit them down to one or two concise packages. There are many excellent pointers coming through.
