  1. Graeme says:

    Cheers Cameron.

Loved hearing Bob spout forth with “These are a few of my favourite things” musaking away in the background with about 8 mins to go. He didn’t miss a beat.

One of his guests had everyone in stitches with about 20 mins left on the recording – but I’m afraid I couldn’t make out a word of it. If anyone could post a brief summary….

  2. Steven Witt says:

    Oh what does he know…..

  3. Mark says:

Beggars can’t be choosers, so forgive me for sounding like a real arsehole here…….but can’t Eliot or someone get better recording equipment to document Bob’s talks? They’re real gems, and in this age of technology, if you’re going to do something, why not do it right!? All that said, thanks for posting the talk…

  4. Mootabanga says:

    DITTO

  5. Cameron says:

Well Mark, in order to make sure it is done to your specifications, how about you get yo’ lazy white ass down here and record it yo’self?

  6. Graeme says:

Jeez guys! You’re getting this good stuff for free! Keep ’em coming Cameron – as ZZ Top once said “Hi-fi, lo-fi, no-fi’s just fine with me”.

  7. Mark says:

As I said, I know I’m getting it for free—very grateful! I don’t mean to be THAT GUY. My gentle point is, if they’re gonna record at all, why not get a good clear recording? Can it really be that hard?–These are valuable talks! Thanks for the airfare Cam, I’m on my way. 😉

  8. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

This room looks ripe for some graffitti!

  9. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

I’m with Mark. Cameron. Sort it out mate. And Mark … It’s not entirely free. you’ll pay somehow in the great scheme of things. If we’re all connected surely it then follows that Cameron will benefit somehow. In someway. I think the least he can do is get a decent mic. Or get bob to shout or something. Man i love this site!

  10. Marcelo says:

Late last night I watched a movie called The Prestige. At the start and at the end of the film Michael Cains character says these exact quotes. They are the three parts of a magicians act.

Part 1 “The Pledge : The magician shows you something ordinary”. (a bird)

Part 2 “The Turn : The magician takes something ordinary and turns it into something extraordinary”. (he makes the bird dissapear)

Part 3 “The Prestige : But you wouldn’t clap yet because making something dissapear isn’t enough… you have to bring it back”.

    No thing – ordinary
    Some thing – extraordinary
    No thing – applause

  11. Qellogathi says:

  14. Dangerous Gary says:

also … why we’re on the subject of aliens … would you austrailians do us a favour and take back rolf fucking harris. He was on the telly tonight and he drives me round the oliver twist!

  15. Blimey 'o shite says:

Thanks for the fix Cameron 😉

  16. tazzy says:

Good stuff, play the one where Bob tells the joke about the bloke with the car jack, [21st. of Jan,I think it was] it’s bloody hilarious! Thanks to everyone involved in getting this out to us all,Tazzy.

  17. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

Tazzy! Are you from Australia too Taz?

  18. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

Where is everyone. Man. I think i’ve scared everyone off. Am i the only toon left in this picture. Cameron man. you best put out another show man. What’s happened to Marcelo. I miss him. marcelo.

  19. Corey Vance says:

    Dangerous Gary,
I can’t speak for everyone, but I prefered this space when it wasn’t your personal masturbation room. Not scared off, you’ve just made this section less interesting than it was before you went post happy.

    corey

  20. Mark says:

Corey, you can speak for me. Well put. Dangerous Gary, enough please.

  21. Lary Gashmar says:

    Dear Mark and Corey.
I agree. You can speak for me too. The last think we want here is masturbation. we want to talk about serious issues and important stuff … like advaita. We’re not pretensious idiots with dodgy names. We’re real people aren’t we Corey V and Marky Mark? Go mastibate some place else buddy! You might be handsome sexy and enlightened Dangerous Gary (which i know you are 100%) but lets face it … we’re all one!

  22. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

    Dear Corey and Mark

You only had to ask? You’re right. I’m being a pain. I’m off. but be warned … i might not be commenting … but i’ll be watching your observations … waiting to pounce at any moment.

may the force be with you

    Gary

  23. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

Just listening to Bob. Now that’s Clarity!

  24. Marshal Gray says:

Come on, everyone! Dangerous Gary rules. He’s up there with the ranks of Johnny Splodge, Borat, and Ricky Gervais, don’t you think?

What say you Gary? Aspiring comedian?

  25. Goofy says:

Hey Gary, are you the only one here now? (I guess so, since there is only One, and that’s here now.) It’s because you’re so much of a pain? I could easily be a pain too I guess, a question asking pain. My questions would all start with “How do I know that …blahblah”. Or perhaps I would keep asking “How can no-one be certain that…” But I’ll spare you that.

Instead, here’s some breaking news I just read, incase you shouldn’t already know: UG is dead. He died on the 22nd of this month in Italy, at the age of 89. How sad. Well, he didn’t care of course. He used to say they could throw his body on the garbage heap as far as he was concerned. I liked listening to him or reading him especially when I felt depressed, since he always said there is no hope, and I’m totally helpless. Strangely enough, it is rather comforting when you feel fucked up to hear that in fact you are fucked up. And he said there is no instrument other than the mind. That’s how I feel too. He said the mind cannot bring us understanding, but there is no other instrument at our disposal, so what we’re left with is utter hopelessness and no knowledge whatsoever. Bob often mentions that the answer is not in the mind, but he leaves out the fact that the answer is nowhere else either. So with gurus like Bob, as nice and clear as he may be, you keep wondering: Ok, the answer is not in the mind, but where is it then? UG said it’s nowhere, there is no answer. UG also said we don’t really want answers to our questions, because if the question disappeared, the questioner would disappear along with it, being the questioning itself. Since the questioner doesn’t want to disappear, he asks questions he knows cannot be answered, so he can exist indefinitely. I guess that’s probably true. He also made strange remarks I don’t understand, about how his understanding blasts every cell of the body and related stuff, or how he used to die physically even while alive or something like that. I also think he once called himself dangerous.
Nobody should trust my understanding of UG, of course, everybody must read it herself. Now that he’s dead I don’t want to be one of the first people to start garbling the message he didn’t have, even though he gave the permission to do that.

  26. Gary ..California says:

    Charming..
Enjoyed this seat in Bob’s house. Lots of clarity in the audience.

For those having problems with the audio, try a really good set of in ear headphones. I have a really good and a great pair of these. I was having a problem hearing until I switched to my Sure E4’s, so once again it isn’t the other guy..it’s you.

  27. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

You’re cool Marshal. I love you man

  28. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

    Dear Goofy.

There is no answer. That is the point. It is only on the level of mind that answers are and need be searched for. When the mind stops it’s search there is never even the question of “where is the answer?” It is simple

  29. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

Dear Goofy. I didn’t real all of your description about UG. There is absolutely zero clarity iny your writing. UG Krisnamurti was the truth as far as i’m concerned and i’ve not sentimental attachment to the old sod. I never knew him. To me’t is as clear as this.

Rocks are hard. Water is wet. UG was awake to the reality of what is!

  30. Gary Lashmar says:

    Dear Advaita show, namely Cameron

Someone has logged on using my name. Marshal Gray. (you’ll see this is an anagram of my name Gary Lashmar) at 1:03am. I want this guy taken off the site. Someone impersonating me. Johnny Splodge is also me. Obviously i could log on as anybody here using a false email address. I want this stopped now. I have always logged on to this site using my own names. (i stand by what i say).

    i want this fixed now!

  31. Gary Lashmar says:

if is is you that’s done this? or marcelo. I may let you off the hook. I know you guys are children of mind. All i’m saying is keep it fair and square.

either that or it was my comment and i’ve gone bonkers.

    thank you

    Yours seriously

    gary lashmar/Marshal Gray

p.s. the false comment was left at 13:03

  32. Gary Lashmar says:

    dear Cameron

barring him from every using this site again will suffice.

    thank you

  33. Goofy says:

Dear Gary: What do you mean – there is zero clarity in my writing? What authority do YOU have to say there is zero clarity in my writing? Could there be any clarity in ANY writing?
If I’m completely confuded, I’m ready to face up to the fact. But I don’t really see how you can tell me I’m confused. I respect UG, incase you thought I did not.

  34. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

    Dear Goofy.

What are you defending? Who is doing the defending. It’s the equivalent of a fancy dress constume getting angry because someone is ridiculing it. The personality is a target and i’m shooting arrows at it.

  35. Dangerous Gary Lashmar says:

Oh by the way. When i say there’s not clarity in your writing. The authority i have is mine. Which is the best authority i know. Shall i go on? I’ve read a lot of peoples writing. And it comes across as being pretty damn clear sometimes. Yours didn’t. It’s very simple. I never said you didn’t respect UG and i couldn’t care less if you respected him or not. It makes no difference to my life. Look lets not get confused here. You’re facilitating this conversation. You can end it here if you want. I’m merely kicking the ball back to you

  36. Mootabanga says:

DGL YOU are such a cock

  37. DANGEROUS G says:

    Dear Mootabanga.

indeed i am the big cock piddling on your poor excuse for a fire.
