Da Guru is in da house again, answering your questions, which this week seem to be mostly about Bob’s experience of compassion and love and what you are “missing” when you see the self as false and yet, like that mexican food you had last night, it just keeps coming back….

G’day mates, shrimp on the barbie and all that crap. Love the show it always makes me smile.
I,ve got this idea for Bob to save him some lip work. What he does is get a parrot to sit on his soilder
and take the advaita scene in for a while , till he knows whats up, then when someone asks Bob a
question he’s heard a buzzilion times he can look up and say polly you want to take that one and polly
can go sqauk Who’s asking the question, sqauk There is only one, sqauk You are what you seek, etc.
I’m trying to formulate a question polly can’t answer but it’s a bitch.
P.S. I’m not what I seek, it’s a hot babe ,but my wife says if I find what I seek ,enlightenment will surely follow. Gulp!

Terrific show. Best moment undoubtedly when the phone rang and Bob says: “Who’s there?” — followed by a resounding silence.

I am wondering if part of the problem is that we idealize the concept of realization, as something akin to perfection, or the end point. Touching the guru’s feet seems to reinforce the seperation, not remove it. It is just garden variety being isn’t it? Mundane reality?

Another great show Cam and Bob!

Question: Let’s talk about sex! How can you have sex without in some way believing that the person you’re making love to isn’t separate from you? After all, when you’re having sex, you don’t scream out “Oh Intelligence Energy, you’re so good!” You don’t look into your lovers eyes and say, “I want to make love to you, even though I know you are really me.”

We don’t do that! We objectify and forget that we are ONE don’t we? So–what’s the proper way to have enlightened sex, Sailor Bob?

  4. Helen says:

    Hi Bob and Cameron,

Bob – what specifically should we do to see our true nature?

    thanks,

    Helen

  5. Michal (czech republic) says:

We call “I” “Já” in czech, which pronounces exactly in the opposite way as “I” – “Já” :-). (17th.show)

Helen – we are our true nature :-).

My question is : will i be able to catch the train and listen to 18th show today? I really donˇt know.. as it happens not dependently on my will 🙂

  6. Steve of UK says:

    Hi Cameron
The old Nisargadatta video you asked Bob about ” Awaken to the Eternal ” is produced + available from http://www.innerdirections.org ($29.29 US)

Yours …. that which contains the opposites

(another entry, representing Bournville UK , for the new name for THAT competition.)

  7. Richard says:

    Bob and Cameron,

    Hello from Virginia.

question: What is the “prior to Consciousness” spoken of by Nisargadatta and Siddharameshwar?

another question: Is the Absolute aware of Itself or anything else? If so wouldn’t that imply subject-object duality? If not wouldn’t that imply ignorance?

    Thanks for your replies.

  8. Jeff Foster says:

I’ve been profoundly affected by nonduality teachings especially those of Sailor Bob. I’ve set up a website http://www.geocities.com/thisispresence/ if anyone wants a look!

All seeking has disappeared, and now there is only what is – and nothing more. And in ‘what is’ there are never any problems. Ever…..

    Jeff;)

  9. glenn thomson says:

Thanks again for answering my question. Leading on from a recent discussion point, I wondered how Bob and Cameron’s intimate “others” have responded to their realisation.

Any issues or concerns and any willingness to engage in working with the understanding themselves ?

    Best

    Glenn

  10. Gilbert says:

Jeff, I had a look at your website. It’s all fine but WHY have you not put a link to Bob’s website, since you say that your profound affectation was via him especially?

  11. Ravi says:

A few starters, first for Björn ‘s top ten list of THAT-words – how about “EVERYTHINGNESS” isn’t that better than “nothingness”. Since these are all concepts why not label the Noumenon as Everythingness rather, that way its easier for the mind to grasp the fact that this universe has come into existence from it and is totipotential. I’m all with Cameron for changing the ‘Advaita vernacular’ to suit the modern man.

Second, Cameron I just found the most Advaitic cartoon characters: Timon and Pumba from the Lion King. Isn’t Enlightenment freedom from worry and suffering – “HAKUNA MATADA” 

Thanks to Richard and Luly for wonderful inputs.

THANKS FOR A GREAT SHOW AS ALWAYS!!!!!!!!!

  12. Hi, Bob…

Love the show. There is a real need for real people talking about nothing 😉 And you and Cameron do it so well. I would say that you two are really something, but that would miss the whole point, now wouldn’t it.

  13. Jeff Foster says:

Gilbert, thanks for your comment, i thought i had linked to bob but obviously not, i’ve corrected the problem!

It seems to me the final paradox (which unravels, of course, the moment it’s not thought about) is that Bob’s message is no message at all, but still we listen to Bob and others like him! I’m wondering if the mind’s final attachment is to those who speak of no path, no effort and no problems. My “worry”(!) is that people get attached to the person, to the message, rather than the simplicity of what is – this moment, now, which for “me” is this: computer, mug of tea, tap-tap-tap on keyboard, breathing.

I think Bob -and others like him -are wonderful, but there is always the danger of making anyone “special” – when Bob himself would freely admit he is nothing special, and that there is no difference between us and him. Just pure awareness, with thought floating through!…… And yet people like Bob, people who speak of the utter simplicity of what is – these people seem to collect “followers”, a total contradiction of what Bob is saying………. perhaps that’s the final paradox………..

Ah well, then again, it’s all okay as it is, followers or no followers. message or no message, just this, as it is………….

Love the show by the way… — any thoughts?

    Jeff;)

Seems like there’s much talk about sex on this site. Whats the big deal? Of course, I remember that I used to have sex in the old days. But I can’t remember why.

  15. gochancu says:

haha ? the one who is posting the comments 😀

  16. xphome says:

my God, i thought you were going to chip in with some decisive insght at the end there, not leave it with ?we leave it to you to decide?.
